Look, Arthur, some people are men and some people are women. They're made that way so they can dance together!
Lucy, I Love Lucy
Skeeve just brought Aazh back to his own home dimension only to find a big problem: He either has to marry a Queen with some murderers habits, or face repercussions. Boring tale with the length of about 200 pages follow. In the end it turned out to be a classic case of Much Ado about Nothing (my nod to the Great Bard).
What Skeeve knows about women, marriage life, and where the babies come from can be completely covered by my opening quote. Any nun who grew up in a secluded monastery since the early childhood has more knowledge on the subject. This really does not look realistic at all - and I do not mean the nun.
The entire book consists of really bad puns (this is the first time of the series such low quality puns made it to the final version), Skeeve's slightly amusing situations coming from his lack of knowledge and a couple of interesting observations on married life. To quote another well-known TV character, "That's all, folks!"
We are talking about the series with first five books being the funniest fantasy ever written (sorry, Terry Pratchett).
At least the previous one was amusing from the beginning to the end. This one tries, but fails most of the time.
2 stars is the verdict. I am not even completely sure if the second star is due to the book being not completely hopeless, or just to my respect for the series. I do not even have to say much about it.
